"On the Puerile Rantings of a Desperate Teddybear: Talib is confused
From his failed urban bus service plan, to his election promise to transform Serrekunda West Park into a modern mini stadium, KMC is the graveyard of election promises. This is exactly why the Teddybear at Westfield should give us a break and focus on his “Mballit administration” that has made life worse for the residents of KM.
His recent post is a mixture of half truths and blatant lies aimed at scoring cheap political points. When your politicians become idle ranters instead of coming up with reasonable and pragmatic alternatives, know that their days are numbered in the political field. Talib is in that category and he is among the worst in that class.
Local fuel prices are determined by global events and this is a fact as admitted by the teddybear himself. Here’s what he wrote: “The Gambia’s transport sector is almost entirely dependent on imported fuel, with pump prices directly tied to global oil markets and exchange rate pressures. When global shocks hit, local transport costs rise immediately.”
This is true not only in The Gambia (with no proven oil resources) but also in big countries like Nigeria who export crude oil. So where is Talib’s fury coming from if not political “haasidiyaa”?
But who is surprised about his “political hassidiyaa”? A man who plotted against his own political godfather for years and fought against his fellow mayors within the party that made him who he is; ending up breaking away and launching attacks on that same party to destroy it? What else can’t he do in the field of politics?
And here’s where Talib exposed his own ignorance and propensity to lie against the government: “Yet, there are no structured fuel subsidies, no targeted support for commercial transport operators, and no price stabilization mechanism to cushion the impact.”
The above statement exposes Talib’s ignorance because there is indeed a “structured mechanism for price stabilization and subsidies.” And The Gambia has been using this structure for decades; and fine tuning it along the way. But a lazy dude with no central government experience would not know. Worse, still Talib would not ask because he is not aware of his own ignorance.
The whole world is grappling with the effects of the US-Israel war against Iran and fuel prices are rising even in America and other great powers with huge oil reserves. Gambia cannot be an exception. The good thing is that government is doing something about this challenge to mitigate its impact on citizens.
If only Talib Bensouda had fulfilled his many promises including a municipal bus service like what obtains in Rwanda, the fuel crisis he is lamenting about at Westfield could have been alleviated. But this lazy kleptocratic mayor will never do anything to make life better for his own constituents.
The municipal bus service will never be implemented just like his promise to modernize the Serekunda West Park never happened.
Municipal authorities are usually sources of alleviating hardships on citizens, especially during trying times
like this. But a mayor who literarily makes it difficult to people to ease themselves at Serrekunda market by introducing toilet charges; such a heartless mayor will never make things easier for his constituents.
All this lazy and incompetent mayor does is rant against government while progressively transforming his office (of mayor) into the de facto political bureau of his yet-to-be-registered political party.
But Gambians are not fools and they will continue to teach the teddybear the right lessons including denying him the requisite number of registered voters to register is failed Unite Movement."

Sultan Jammeh Attacks Government
"The Gambia is a nation in need of help, and it’s high time for us, as citizens, to take a stand and work together to save our country. I’ve seen President Barrow urging Gambians abroad to invest in The Gambia, yet his government has made it difficult for many of us to do so.“
